WHAT RAW MATERIALS TRACKED WOOD CHIPPER CAN PROCESS?

The biggest advantage of tracked wood chippers lies in their adaptability to complex terrain and a wide range of raw materials. They can efficiently process logs, forestry waste, construction waste, etc., achieving a highly standardized on-site chipping process and significantly reducing secondary transportation costs. Therefore, this machine is widely used in paper mills, particleboard plants, biomass power plants, etc., and has become a core piece of equipment for on-site processing in forest areas, enabling efficient resource recycling. The raw materials it can process can be mainly divided into the following categories:
Forestry wood logs and forest waste
This mainly includes logs, bamboo, branches, bark, and logging waste. These raw materials are relatively hard and vary in shape. Using the forced feeding system and high-efficiency chipping system of the tracked wood chipper, they can be crushed into uniformly shaped wood chips.
Urban greening and orchard waste
This mainly includes branches pruned for urban greening, discarded thick branches and trunks from orchard construction, etc. These materials are scattered, especially in orchards where the terrain is rugged. This machine, with its tracked structure, can process them on-site, achieving timely reduction in waste from urban greening and orchard construction.
Wood processing and building construction waste
This mainly includes wooden pallets, scraps, plank ends, and construction waste. These materials often contain impurities such as nails. These raw materials require a custom-made hammer rotor, and the crushed material is then processed using an iron removal device. This not only enables resource recycling and reuse but also extends the machine’s lifespan and reduces its failure rate.
THE UNIQUE ADVANTAGES OF TRACKED WOOD CHIPPER

Compact and structurally designed shape
The KXCWC220G crawler-type wood chipper adopts full-hydraulic structure, fully demonstrating the outstanding heavy-duty performance of this equipment, including low-speed high-torque operation, strong feeding capacity without clogging, and ease of maintenance.
Heavy-duty chain plate feeding system
The heavy-duty tracked wood chipper is equipped with an 8mm thick chain feeding system, which can easily handle large-diameter logs and ensures smooth feeding with an extremely low failure rate. The chains segment is equipped with anti-slip strips and middle support rollers, as well as welded reinforcing ribs. This design can firmly hold the wood and is not prone to deformation, effectively preventing the wood from tipping over due to inconsistent diameters, and avoiding potential safety accidents.

It is equipped with a high-end Weichai diesel engine
Weichai diesel engines are a top-tier brand with four core advantages: strong power, large torque reserve, no jamming when crushing hardwood, stable machine quality, low failure rate and low maintenance costs; various parts conform to international standards and are universal, wear parts are easy to replace, and fuel consumption is economical; electronically controlled high-pressure common rail, which is more fuel-efficient than similar products.
Heavy-duty tracked chassis system
The chassis features a heavy-duty tracked structure with excellent grip, anti-slip properties, and wear resistance, enabling it to adapt to complex terrain and achieve efficient outdoor operations. The tracks and upper body are connected by a single high-strength steel structure, providing exceptional stability and withstanding strong vibrations from rugged terrain or operational conditions.

The Working Principle of Tracked Wood Chipper

Step 1: Infeed
Logs, waste wood pallets, and other raw materials are placed directly onto a heavy-duty chain conveyor system using a log grabber, forklift, or manually. The chain conveyor continuously transports the raw materials into the system.
Step 2: Feeding
When the raw material reaches the chipping machine, the upper and lower feed rollers grip it tightly, and the upper press rollers adjusts its height according to the height of the wood, generating a strong downward squeezing force that forces the raw material into the chipping chamber, avoiding the risk of machine blockage and jamming.
Step 3: Chipping
When the materials enter the chipping chamber, several flying knives are installed on the heavy-duty knife rollers inside. The efficient and powerful combination of the flying knives and the bottom knife enables the raw materials to be chipped or crushed at a high frequency and intensity.
Step 4: Discharging
Wood chips of the correct size pass directly through the discharge system and can be collected in a dedicated hopper. Oversized chips undergo secondary chipping to improve the yield of the final wood chips and ensure uniform size. The wood chips could pass through a sieve to remove fine sand, stones, and other impurities.

CUSTOMER’S REAL FEEDBACK

We are an export-oriented company with a long-standing and excellent partnership with JK Machinery. Our current client is a European timber processing company whose raw materials primarily come from mountainous regions. The client pointed out that each operation required them to first harvest trees in the mountains and then transport them by truck to their factory for chipping. The machines in the factory frequently damaged their blades when processing logs larger than 25 cm in diameter, and the resulting wood chips were also uneven in size.
Later, we collaborated with JK Machinery to negotiate and customize the KXCWC220G tracked chipper. This chipper can chip directly on-site after harvesting, significantly reducing transportation costs. Furthermore, its feeding speed is very fast, easily handling logs up to 25 cm in diameter. Most importantly, it produces wood chips of uniform shape and size, which can be directly fed into the crusher, increasing our client’s output and reducing the need for secondary chipping. The feedback has been exceptionally positive.
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
1. What are the main operating scenarios for the KXCWC220G tracked wood chipper?
This tracked chipper is primarily used in complex and rugged terrain, such as muddy roads, hills, and low hills. It is ideal equipment for industries such as mountain development and landscaping
2. What is the maximum diameter of wood that the KXCWC220G tracked wood chipping machine can cut?
The commonly used wood diameter is approximately 25 mm, but it is recommended that the maximum cutting diameter not exceed 30 mm. The specific size depends on the machine’s power and feed inlet size. We also have larger machine models available; please contact us for information if needed.
3. Is the output diameter of this chipper adjustable?
Of course! We usually change the output size by changing the screen diameter or adjusting the blades. Therefore, please inform us of your needs before purchasing, and we can customize it according to your requirements.
4. How long can the blades of the KXCWC220G tracked wood chipper be used? How often do they need to be replaced?
Generally, we recommend that the machine blades be inspected or sharpened after 2-4 consecutive shifts of operation. Regularly check the blade wear; if the blades are severely damaged or worn to their limit, they must be replaced; otherwise, it will pose a safety hazard.
5. What precautions should be taken when operating this wood chipper?
First, when the machine is running, the operator must maintain a safe distance from the feed inlet and must never put hands or feet into the feed inlet. Second, when the feed is short, use auxiliary tools to push the material to avoid accidents. Finally, when the machine is running, the operator must maintain a safe distance from the discharge outlet.
